The Historic Occidental Hotel has been restored to its original 1800s grandeur in this museum. Period antiques, historical artifacts and photographs from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, when Buffalo was still a Wild West town. The guest rooms, the saloon, the lobby and all other rooms allow visitors a brief look into the past.

A regional western history museum, the Jim Gatchell Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the American West, particularly the Powder River-Bozeman Trail Region. Many exhibits and artifacts are on display. The on-site gift store offers sovieniers and books.
